Scott, Barrasso, Brown Rare Disease Day Resolution Unanimously Passes the Senate
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) joined Senators John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) in cosponsoring a bipartisan resolution designating February 28th as Rare Disease Day. The resolution unanimously passed the Senate.

Background:
Sen. Scott has fought for commonsense legislation that provides high-quality healthcare for all Americans. His past work focused on rare disease includes:
- Passing key elements of his HEART Act into law, which requires reporting, studies, and meetings to advance the development and FDA’s review of rare disease treatments;
- Passing his Sickle Cell Awareness resolution in the Senate; and
- Ushering into law his Sickle Cell and Other Heritable Blood Disorders Research Surveillance, Prevention and Treatment Act.
