Scott to Honor Veterans of the Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq at Appreciation Event

WASHINGTON – Today, Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) announced an upcoming event to honor all active, reserve, and National Guard military personnel along with defense contractors who served in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“I am grateful to each and every one of our men and women and uniform,” said Sen. Scott. “The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq undoubtedly shaped the world that we live in now, and it’s critical that we don’t forget the sacrifices of servicemembers and their families over the last two decades.”

The appreciation event will take place at Seacoast Church, 750 Long Point Rd, Mount Pleasant, S.C. 29464 on May 7, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The program will include a performance from the Marine Corps Band of Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, as well as remarks from Sen. Scott along with other distinguished military officials. Representatives from the VeteransAdministration and other veteran-serving organizations will be present to provide assistance and resources to veterans in attendance. All who served in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as friends and family, are encouraged to attend.

The event is free to attend; however RSVPs are required. All who wish to attend can RSVP at OurHeroes.Eventbrite.com
