Scott Statement On Budget Vote
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) released the statement below after voting against a $2.7 trillion dollar budget proposal.
“While I certainly applaud the authors of this deal for a good faith effort to set government spending for the next two years, unfortunately, the spending levels are far too high,” Senator Scott said. “We certainly need to make sure our Armed Forces and veterans are taken care of, but the tens of billions in additional spending demanded by House Democrats outside of those two areas is simply irresponsible.”
