Senator Scott Tours Southern Border in San Ysidro, CA

WASHINGTON – Yesterday, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) toured various parts of the southern border in San Ysidro, CA. His tour included stops at the San Ysidro Port of Entry (SYS POE), the Border Infrastructure System, and the Secondary Border Barrier Replacement Project.

Sen. Scott was joined by SYS POE Port Director Sidney Aki, SYS POE Chief of Staff Jeff Demott, and Chief Patrol Agent Rodney S. Scott. During his tour, Sen. Scott and company discussed border infrastructure (technology, enforcement and effectiveness), border barrier prototype testing and evaluation, recent challenges and need for additional resources, and more.
