Sen. Scott Statement on Trump Declaring National Health Emergency Regarding Opioids

Washington – U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) released the statement below following President Trump’s declaration of a nationwide health emergency regarding the opioid epidemic.

“Today’s announcement by President Trump is an important step in tackling the opioid epidemic that has had dire consequences for so many families across the nation. We must do everything possible to both help those struggling with addiction and stop the further spread of opioid abuse.
