Senator Scott Votes In Support of FDA Commissioner

Washington, D.C. – Today, Sen. Scott voted in support of Dr. Scott Gottlieb to serve as our next Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration. Below is his statement regarding Gottlieb’s nomination:

“As both a physician and cancer survivor, Dr. Gottlieb brings a unique experience-set that will help him approach situations both as a medical professional and a patient. Not only is he exceptionally qualified, but his nomination has received support from nearly 50 various medical organizations, and he has also been highly regarded by three former FDA commissioners. I hope he will help bring a common-sense approach to how the FDA is managed, especially in how we empower innovation to ensure every patient has access to the most groundbreaking treatments available.”
