Scott Praises Army Corps of Engineers’ Unanimous Approval of Charleston Harbor Deepening Project

Charleston, SC – Following U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Civil Works Review Board unanimous approval of the Final Integrated Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement for the Charleston Harbor Deepening Project, U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) released the following statement:

“Today’s announcement by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers underscores the importance of moving forward to deepen the Charleston Harbor. This project will ensure that our region remains one of the most competitive ports on the East Coast as the Panama Canal is expanded. South Carolina has become the epicenter of our nation’s manufacturing renaissance, and a deeper port in Charleston will provide our region with even strong economic benefits for the entire Southeast.I will continue workingto ensure this critical harbor modernization is completed.”
