Senator Tim Scott Announces Senior Staff
WASHINGTON — Today, Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) announced the members of his senior staff in Washington, D.C. and South Carolina.
“The wealth of legislative, management and political experience this team brings to the table is invaluable in our fight to deliver for South Carolinians and the American people,” said Senator Scott.
Adam Farris has been named Chief of Staff. Previously, he served as the senator’s Legislative Director and Senior Policy Advisor. Prior to joining the senator’s office, Farris served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Senate Affairs at the U.S. Department of State and has over ten years of Capitol Hill experience. An adjunct professor at the George Washington University Graduate School of Political Management, Farris teaches international trade policymaking. Farris holds a bachelor’s degree in international business from the University of Oklahoma and a master’s degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College.
Joe McKeown has been named Senior Advisor and will oversee state operations. Having successfully managed Senator Scott’s successful bids for Congress, including his recent reelection to the United States Senate, McKeown is a long-time advisor of Senator Scott. Before joining the senator’s staff in 2010, McKeown and Senator Scott served concurrently on the Charleston County Council. Currently residing in Hanahan, McKeown holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina.
Chelsea DeCasper has been named Deputy Chief of Staff. Joining the senator’s team in 2015, DeCasper most recently served as the senator’s Administrative Director, overseeing the scheduling department, managing the office budget and operations, ensuring the implementation of Senate rules and compliance with Senate ethics and strengthening the office’s plans and procedures.
Joshua Grant has been named Legislative Director. Most recently serving as the Policy Director for Tim Scott for America, Grant previously served as the senator’s Senior Advisor and brings over seven years of Capitol Hill and policy experience to the team. A native of Colleton County, South Carolina, Grant holds a bachelor’s degree from Benedict College, one of South Carolina’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).
Katie Vincentz will continue to serve as Communications Director. Before joining Senator Scott’s team last year, Vincentz most recently served as Congressman Lee Zeldin’s (R, N.Y.) Communications Director, first in his official office in the House of Representatives and then on his statewide campaign for Governor of New York. Vincentz brings nearly ten years of Capitol Hill and campaign experience to the team. She holds a bachelor’s degree from American University in Washington, D.C.
