Senator Tim Scott Receives Award From South Carolina Association of Counties

CHARLESTON, SC — This week, at a special event held on Daniel Island, U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) was presented with the 2024 David K. Summers Jr. President’s Cup by South Carolina Association of Counties (SCAC) Immediate Past President Roy Costner. The prestigious award ceremony highlighted Sen. Scott’s remarkable contributions to public service and his relentless commitment to county government.

“I’m deeply honored to receive this award,” said Senator Scott. “While I’ll never forget the impact I was able to have during my time on county council, I’m committed to tackling the issues that shape our local communities and ensuring a brighter future for all.”

SCAC’s President’s Cup is awarded annually to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication and service to county government. Sen. Scott’s illustrious career in public service began on Charleston County Council in 1995, where he served for 13 years, leaving a lasting impact on the local community.
