Sen. Scott Meets with Pete Hegseth

WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) met with President-elect Trump’s nominee, Pete Hegseth, to serve as United States Secretary of Defense. Senator Scott issued the following statement after the meeting:

“Pete and I share similar concerns about our nation’s security and the direction our military is headed. In order to overcome the challenges and threats our country faces, we need a Department of Defense that embraces innovation and modernization. It was great to sit down to hear more about his dedication to our country, our men and women in uniform, and what is needed for America to once again be a global leader and stand with our allies.”
