ICYMI: Scott Hosts HBCU Fair and Meets with South Carolina Business Leaders
WASHINGTON – Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) released a video highlighting his first Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Career Fair in conjunction with Benedict College. The event was designed to serve as a forum to foster public-private partnerships and introduce students and alumni to career, fellowship, and internship opportunities with South Carolina’s top employers.
“I’ve worked hard to ensure that HBCUs have the resources to continue their mission and strong legacy of impactful education,” said Sen. Scott. “Connecting HBCU students and alumni with employers is the next logical step in ensuring that work continues.”
With inflation reaching historic levels, Sen. Scott also held a roundtable conversation with several South Carolina business leaders in the Greenville area to hear about their workforce challenges and how inflation is affecting businesses day-to-day.
“The impact of inflation on businesses and workers are not just facts and figures on a spreadsheet,” said Sen. Scott. “It’s important to get consistent feedback from real people to better understand the effects of our economic environment.”
