WASHINGTON — Yesterday, U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) appeared on Fox News’ America’s Newsroom to discuss the Biden administration’s open border policy, which has motivated millions of illegal immigrants to journey to the U.S. and unlawfully settle in our country. Senator Scott, who has championed 10 pieces of border security legislation, emphasized the urgency of securing our southern border and implementing commonsense solutions to keep the American people safe.

On President Biden’s open border policy and its devastating impact on America’s national security… “10 million illegal immigrants will enter this country by the time we have the election this year. Somewhere around 300 people, either terrorists or suspected terrorists, coming into our country; sleeper cells waiting in our country. We need new leadership because we need America to be safe.”  

On keeping the American people safe by securing the border… “So many of the bills we’re looking at require us to help secure the border for Israel – that’s a good thing. Ukraine’s border – that’s a good thing. But how about our border? Do Americans not deserve to have a border that is secure so that Americans are safe? The answer is absolutely, positively, unequivocally, yes. So, let’s make sure that whatever passes through the House and the Senate takes care of America first. We need to make sure that our border is secure. We are frankly the city on the hill, and that requires us to be safe.”
