Scott Statement on Omnibus Spending Package

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) released the following statement after voting against the Democrats’ $1.5 trillion government spending package.

“I am a strong supporter of helping the Ukrainian people resist Vladimir Putin’s vicious and unjust war, and I will be the first to vote for a standalone bill that bolsters the fight for Ukraine.

“Sadly, Democrats used an international crisis to jam through another reckless government spending package. The Democrats’ spending has already overheated our economy, driving inflation to record highs and saddling Americans with trillions of dollars of debt. 

“I cannot support another wasteful, big government spending bill at the expense of the American people.”
