Scott to HHS Chief: Backup Plan If Supreme Court Overturns Obamacare?

Washington – U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) questioned Secretary Sylvia Burwell of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services today regarding the department’s contingency plans if the Supreme Court overturns portions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in the King v. Burwell case.

Secretary Burwell would not say the department has a plan in this scenario. King v. Burwell challenges the legality of subsidies paid under the federal health care exchange established by the ACA. Click below to watch the questioning.
