Sen. Scott Commends Ryan Poverty Focus

Washington– U.S. Senator Tim Scott issued the statement below following Speaker Paul Ryan and House Republicans unveiling the first plank of their “A Better Way” initiative, aimed at lifting people out of poverty.

“It is exciting to see Speaker Ryan leading the House towards solutions that will lift folks up from poverty and ensure that every American has the opportunity to succeed. My Opportunity Agenda is based on helping low-income and middle class Americans find the opportunities they are looking for to take care of their families and build a stronger future.

I commend the Speaker and my colleagues in the House for their time, effort and dedication towards developing a roadmap, and I will continue working with them to see solutions such as school choice and job training improvements brought to life for the American people.”
