Senator Scott Appoints Charles Cogar as Chief of Staff

WASHINGTON — U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) has appointed Charles Cogar to serve as his Chief of Staff. Cogar formerly served as Senator Scott’s Legislative Director for 10 years.

“Charles brings to the table decades of legislative experience and a detailed knowledge of the Senate few can replicate,” said Senator Scott. “I’m thrilled to have Charles back on our team, and I have no doubt he will be invaluable as we continue to deliver results for South Carolinians and the American people.”

Prior to his time as Senator Scott’s Legislative Director, Cogar held various legislative roles in the offices of Congressman Mike Coffman (R-Colo.), Senator Wayne Allard (R-Colo.), and Congressman Don Young (R-Alaska). He also served as Senior Policy Adviser to Senator Scott on the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee.
