Senator Scott Votes to Fund Zika Fight

Washington – U.S. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) issued the statement below after voting to fund the fight against the Zika virus. Senate Democrats continued to block passage of the legislation, which they have been holding up since July.

“It is extremely disappointing that Senate Democrats have once again chosen to place politics over the health of the American people. I have voted multiple times now to fund the fight against Zika, and to help protect pregnant mothers and their unborn children against the virus. It’s well past time for Senate Democrats to get on board, and stop offering excuses for their political blockade.”
