Senator Tim Scott Welcomes Passage of Legislation to Help Sexual Assault Victims

Charleston, SC-Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) was proud to support the Debbie Smith Reauthorization Act, whichsupports sexual assault victims by easing the backlog of DNA samples from victims,when it passed the Senate this past week. Scott issued the following statement:

“I am proud to support the Debbie Smith Reauthorization Act.People who suffer from sexual assaults must be able to trust that if they are willing to go through the painful experience of coming forward, our justice system will do absolutely everything in its power to bring their attacker to justice, and to make sure that they are not able to hurt anyone else.
